5K Friends of the Poor Walk September 25, 2010!

All funds collected online, through members, and at the event – 100 percent! – will go to the local St. Vincent de Paul conferences in the Orlando Diocese, for the sole purpose of assisting those in need. The 2010 walks will be held at several locations in the Orlando Diocese, see the list below.

The National SVDP Friends of the Poor website is a great tool. If you are a participating or potential walker; or walk donor, sponsor, conference, or council, you will find nearly everything that you need to make the Friends of the Poor® Walk a success.
-Find a local conference hosting a walk using the “Walk Locations” search function.
-Become a walker, register and create you own donation “mini website” using the “Become a Walker”
-Make a pledge to a an individual walker online if you wish using the “Search for Walker” function.

Annunciation Catholic Church - September 25th. 8:30 am. - Walk Location: Montgomery Road Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. A 3.5 mile walk originating at church, proceeding through community, a brief stop in a park for prayer, and ending at the church. Followed by live entertainment and food. All Souls Catholic Church - September 25th. 9:00 am. - Walk Location: 600 East First Street Sanford FL 32771. The RiverWalk in downtown Sanford. Registration begins at 8 am in Fort Mellon Park and the Walk gets underway at 9 am. More information: svdpallsouls.wordpress.com. Contact All Souls Trace Trylko 407.330.4400 svdpallsouls@yahoo.com.

Holy Family Catholic Church - September 25th. 8:30 am. - Walk Location: Turkey Lake Park, 3401 South Hiawassee Road Orlando, FL 32835. Contact Rick Huybers 407-880-3126 svdporlando@hotmail.com.

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church - October 2nd. 8:00 am. - Walk Location: 201 University Blvd. Daytona Beach FL 32118. We will walk from the church to the World’s Most Famous Beach. We will walk along the beach and return to the church. A pancake breakfast will follow. Resurrection - September 25th. 8:15 am. - Walk Location: City Hall Winter Garden, 300 West Plant Street Winter Garden, FL 34787. The walk will begin at City Hall and will continue on the West Orange Trail. Contact Resurrection Tony Calabro 321-231-5097 allcoast1@bellsouth.net.

St. Joseph/St. Matthew - September 25th. 9:00 am. - Walk Location: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 451 3rd St. NW Winter Haven, FL 33881. The walk will begin at the Gazebo. Pre-registration will begin at 8:30. Lake Silver is 1.1 miles around, so the walkers may circle the picturesque lake as often as they wish. Families and teams are all welcome.
