“Do you need assistance?”

The Society’s mission is to help people in need survive whatever crisis they are facing – financial, medical, emotional, or spiritual – and “get back on their feet.” Direct aid or assistance is at the center of the work of the local Conferences. Assistance is offered on a personal basis and is provided with respect and dignity.

Step 1. Locate the conference closest to you by clicking on the map below.

Step 2. Call the conference to make an appointment. You may need to leave a message but one of our volunteers will return your call at their earliest convenience. Please be patient, our conference offices are staffed 100% by volunteers.

Step 3. You will meet with one of our conference volunteers (Vincentian) with whom you can speak confidentially about your current situation. If you require assistance other than food or clothing, we will arrange a home visit to thoroughly assess your needs.

Step 4. We will make a determination as to how we can best assist you, and also recommend other resources available within the community.

Are you a candidate for our Uplift Program?
As the numbers of those in need grows dramatically, it is even more urgent for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul to act on the words of our Patron. “Changing lives… one at a time.” SVdP Orlando now offers a program to assist individuals in improving all aspects of their lives.

Have you been trying your best to find a better job, expand your educational skills, or just get ahead?

Our Uplift program is more than assistance. Uplift assists a client to move through a difficult phase with mentoring, training, and financial support so that they can stabilize their situation. Uplift helps a person move from repeated assistance to self-sufficiency and independence. It is a tremendous financial and personal commitment on the part of SVdP. For this reason, we are careful in our selection of Uplift applicants, and must ensure that this commitment goes both ways. Depending upon your future goals, this is a long-term commitment which can be from 6-24 months.  If you are currently a client at one of our parish conferences, speak with your caseworker about becoming a possible candidate.
