Jail and Prison Ministry
Welcome to Orlando for Convocation 2013!
It is our pleasure to invite you to the 32nd Annual National Convocation of Jail and Prison Ministry. The event will be held May 19-21, 2013 at the Drury Inn & Suites, located at 7301 West Sand Lake Road, Orlando, Florida. The theme of the 2013 Convocation is “Building Bridges, not Walls.” Those of you who touch the lives of individuals who are incarcerated or those who have been released or even their families, understand the importance of fostering relationships both within and outside jail and prison walls.
This convocation is sponsored by the Diocesan Council of Orlando Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Our keynote speaker will be Sr. Helen Prejean, whose book Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty, was developed into a major motion picture, “Dead Man Walking.” Her book was on the New York Times best seller list for 31 weeks and has been translated into 10 different languages.
